Watch Paul Riario unlock an insane array of tones from the classic-but-modern ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000T CTM
Affordably-priced model boasts weight relief body, Fishman Fluence Open Core humbuckers offering passive, active and single-coil tones
Looking for an all-in-one guitar that combines classic, tried-and-true specs with modern appointments, offers up a slew of single-coil and humbucker tones, and does it all at an affordable price? Look no further than ESP’s new EC-1000T CTM.
Indeed, the amount of features ESP managed to pack into this single-cut wonder is head-spinning, as Paul Riario details in this new demo video.
The EC-1000T starts with a full-thickness mahogany body with a beautiful flame maple top in a See Thru Black Cherry finish.
There’s also a set-thru, thin U profile three-piece mahogany neck, a 24 3/4-inch scale length, LTD locking tuners, a TonePros Locking TOM and tailpiece and a 22-fret macassar ebony fingerboard. “The frets have a jumbo profile and are stainless steel, which will resist wear and tear,” Paul points out.

He continues by highlighting some of the EC-1000T’s “cool modern upgrades that adds to its classic appeal,” including a chambered body for weight relief and a pair of “incredible” Fishman Fluence Open Core classic humbuckers with custom black nickel pole pieces.
The Fishman humbuckers are controlled by push-pull knobs that select between three different voicings, offering the tone and response of both active and passive pickup varieties (Voice 1 and Voice 2) as well as single-coil varieties (Voice 3), for access to a wide array of sounds.
“It expands the tonal range of this guitar from other similar designs,” Paul says. He goes on to explain that the bridge pickup “offers a vintage PAF, a classic hot rod and a slightly overwound single-coil tone, while the neck pickup features vintage PAF, clear airy chime and vintage single-coil tones.”
That’s a whole lot of sounds from one guitar. To hear them all in action, check out the video above.
And for more on the EC-1000T CTM, which Paul says “strikes the perfect balance between traditional features that players consider essential and modern upgrades that many of today’s guitarists prefer,” head to ESP Guitars.
