Watch Ayla Tesler-Mabe tear it up on the versatile Cort KX500
The KX500 boasts an exotic finish and powerful Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers
Cort's new KX500 Etched guitars are the new flagship models of the KX Series. They come equipped with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers that offer a world of tonal variety at your fingertips.
You can watch singer/songwriter/guitarist Ayla Tesler-Mabe demonstrate its sonic capabilities in the video above.
The KX500 features a gorgeous ash burl top on a rich, resonant mahogany body.
Ash burl is an exotic wood that boasts a deep, 3-dimensional look Cort refers to as “etched”. The wood’s sonic character is brilliant and sparkling with a solid punchy midrange, making it an excellent choice to pair with the mahogany body.
The Cort KX500 also features volume and tone push/pull knobs with a 3 way pickup selector to utilize the full potential of the Fishman set. The push/pull on the volume knob switches between Voicing 1 and Voicing 2, while the push/pull on the tone knob features either the full humbucker voice or a coil-split.
Another impressive feature of the KX500 is its Macassar Ebony fretboard, which is similar to rosewood in both looks and sound, producing a deep rich resonance with warm yet cutting highs.
The new “Raindrop” fingerboard inlay, designed specifically for this model, provides another subtle, but distinctive visual touch. The 5-piece maple and purpleheart neck, meanwhile, offers stability and a focused sound, as well as complimentary aesthetic.
