See an Ibanez Jem Jr. get hot-rodded to shred heaven courtesy of FU-Tone’s awesome guitar upgrades
A Brass Big Block, White Titanium Hardware, Noiseless Springs and more transform the axe from ordinary to extraordinary
Whenever we’re lucky enough to have FU-Tone’s Adam Reiver visit Guitar World, we know there’s fun about to be had. And by fun, we mean – yes – guitar upgrades.
Indeed, FU-Tone is the first and last stop if you’re looking to take your axe from ordinary to extraordinary, and Reiver, along with GW Tech Editor Paul Riario, is here to show us just how easy it is to do.
To demonstrate, Paul and Adam sit down to add upgrades to an Ibanez Jem Jr.
First, Paul puts the Jem Jr. through its paces – pre-upgrades – employing both clean and overdriven tones.
Next, it’s time to take this ordinary stock guitar screaming into extraordinary territory.
How?
“It’s so simple,” Adam says. “I brought everything in the pouch of my gig bag – Allen wrenches, string cutter, spring pull tool, screwdriver, string winder.”
The two get to work, and Paul then shows off the stunning post-upgrades results, highlighted by a Brass Big Block for added sustain, punch and definition, white Titanium Saddle Inserts for added sustain, clarity and durability, white Titanium Hardware and Posts for indestructible performance and function and white Noiseless Springs for cleaner tone.
The Jem Jr., needless to say, looks awesome. As for how it plays and sounds? See and hear for yourself in the video.
“The upgrades really make your guitar sound a whole lot better,” Paul marvels. “Ordinary to extraordinary. This guitar is just fire.”
