Ratt Attack! CD DVD Reissues Due July 31
On July 31, Rhino will re-release a CD and DVD from Eighties hair metal favorites Ratt: the audio collection Tell the World: The Very Best of Ratt and the video collection Ratt: Videos from the Cellar: The Atlantic Years, which combines the group’s two previously issued video collections on one DVD.
Ratt were among the hair metal acts that rose to popularity in the mid-Eighties heyday of MTV. The group featured singer Stephen Pearcy, guitarists Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini, bassist Juan Croucier and drummer Bobby Blotzer. Ratt released four consecutive Platinum records during the Eighties but broke up in the early Nineties as Seattle acts like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Nirvana made hair metal passé.
Rhino’s Videos from the Cellar DVD compiles some of Ratt's most popular videos—“Round and Round,” “Lovin’ You’s a Dirty Job” and “Lay It Down”—and includes several bonus features, such as highlights from the band's tour of Japan, new commentary from Pearcy, DeMartini and Blotzer, and previously unreleased videos.
The Tell the World CD features standout songs from all seven of the group's albums, including the classics “Wanted Man,” “Back for More” and “Round and Round” from the band's triple Platinum-selling Atlantic debut, Out of the Cellar. Tell the World will also include an unreleased song from the sessions for the group’s 1988 album, Reach for the Sky, in addition to tracks from the Sony Portrait release Ratt and the independently released Collage.
Both the CD and DVD were produced in cooperation with RATT and will be available at all retail outlets and at www.rhino.com for suggested list prices of $19.99 for the DVD and $18.98 for the CD, respectively.
