Paul Riario “steals the show” with the high-end workhorse Maton SRS808C acoustic

Maton’s SRS808C is, like all the Australian company’s acoustics, a premium guitar made from exquisite woods and boasting high-end features.

But make no mistake – it’s also built to last.

As Paul Riario points out in the above demo, the SRS stands for Solid Road Series, meaning that, true to its name, it’s an acoustic guitar meant to be played onstage and to withstand the rigors of the road.

The SRS808C incorporates solid blackwood back and sides, an “A” grade western red cedar top and a soft cutaway.

“What’s interesting,” Paul adds, “is Maton employs a custom scalloped X-bracing pattern that enhances the vibration of the top while also bringing forth a full open lower frequency response and a crisp well defined treble response."

Other features include a streaky ebony fingerboard and bridge, black outer binding, 25.5-inch scale length, 21 frets, a sapele ring rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard, Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Natural Satin finish throughout.

There’s also Maton’s acclaimed AP5 PRO pickup system, and the guitar ships with a Maton case designed specifically to fit the instrument.

And just check out those tones, courtesy of Paul’s demo.

“The SRS808C is an eye-catching workhorse of an acoustic with easy playability,” he says. “Its big acoustic voice belies its compact dimensions, offering warm, fuller tones courtesy of its unique blackwood back and sides combined with the top end sparkle of its western red cedar top, making it a guitar that will certainly steal the show.”

We couldn’t agree more.
