Paul Gilbert Joins Satch & Petrucci on G3
HOLLYWOOD (February 25, 2007) – Paul Gilbert will join Joe Satriani and Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci on the celebrated G3 tour this spring. The 2007 incarnation of the annual tour will kick off March 14 in Phoenix and run for selected dates in North America throughout March and April.
Gilbert started his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a teenager in the late Eighties and remains one of the most active guitarists from the original shred guitar scene. He was a founding member of Mr. Big, whose successes include the 1991 hit single "Lean into It," and he achieved cult status as the founding member of the legendary and highly successful underground progressive metal band Racer X.
The 2007 G3 tour will follow the successful formula used in its previous years. Fans will be treated to individual sets by each guitarist and his band, and all three guitarists will perform together for an all-star jam session supported by Satriani's band. As with previous G3 tours, special guest guitarists will be invited to join the jam at select dates around the country. Past guests have included Neal Schon, Gary Hoey, George Lynch, Billy Gibbons, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Fripp and Brian May.
