New Obituary CD Due in August
Obituary have confirmed Xecutioner's Return as the title of their forthcoming album. The album's release date has been pushed forward to August 28 from the previously announced September 11 date, and the band is finalizing plans for a U.S. tour that will kick off in early September. Full tour details will be announced shortly.
Founded in 1985, Obituary recently completed their debut tour of Australia. "It took us over 20 years to get to Australia, but we finally made it and had a great time,” vocalist John Tardy says. “The shows were really great, and I know our fans there waited a long time for this, so it was nice to finally get down there."
Xecutioner's Return will feature cover art from Andreas Marshall. Previously, Marshall has created art for the band’s 1992 album, The End Complete and their 2005 release, Frozen in Time. Tracking of the new record has now been completed, with mixing and mastering now on schedule in the coming weeks.
Obituary are currently on tour in South America. Upcoming show dates include:
June 5 Santiago, Chile, Teatro Teleton
June 6 Buenos Aires, Argentina, The Roxy
June 7 Porto Alegre/RS, Brasil, Bar Opiniao
June 8 Sao Paulo/SP, Brasil, Hangar 110
June 9 Belo Horizonte, Brasil, Lapa Multishow
