Mastodon Release "Oblivion" Video; Team Up with Vans for Sneaks
Mastodon fans can now watch the mini-epic video for "Oblivion," from the band's new album, Crack the Skye. The clip was directed by the famed Roboshobo and is available here.
Mastodon have also teamed up with their favorite active lifestyle company, Vans, to create four distinctive shoe styles featuring Paul Romano’s artwork from their Blood Mountain album. The Vans X Mastodon "Blood Mountain" will be available this summer — sold in footwear shops worldwide, Vans stores, and on vans.com.
Mastodon formed in 1999 in Atlanta and has basically lived on the road ever since, touring with such acts as Iron Maiden and Slayer. The artwork used in this package is from the band’s highly successful third album, Blood Mountain, which was released in 2006 and includes the band’s hit single, "Colony of Birchmen." This fall, Vans salutes Mastodon with four shoe styles including a Sk8-Hi and Classic Slip-On featuring Blood Mountain cover art, as well as a black and gray "Blade Catcher" Sk8-Hi and Classic Slip-On. These are guaranteed to sell fast, so do not hesitate to seek them out. Check out vans.com for more info.
Lastly, Crack the Skye is now available on a limited-edition color vinyl pressing. The beautiful gold and red 12-inch disc is available at MastodonRocks.com and CrackTheSkye.com.
