LAVA MUSIC’s all-new LAVA ME 4 Carbon and Spruce models “are immersive guitars that are like nothing else”
Significant software upgrades and improved builds help take these LAVA models to new heights
Not too long ago, LAVA MUSIC once again proved why it’s leading the way in acoustic guitar innovation with the unveiling of its overhauled LAVA ME 4 range.
Comprising the futuristic LAVA ME 4 Carbon and more traditionally styled LAVA ME 4 Spruce, the brand’s latest lineup introduces a host of new performance upgrades that take the platform to all new heights.
And that’s saying something. As Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario explains in the demo video below, LAVA guitars – specifically, his LAVA ME 3 and BLUE LAVA models – have been his go-to pick-up-and-play instruments for some time.
“Why is that, you ask? Lava guitars are perfect because of their compact sizes,” Paul explains.
“Another important reason is that the guitars come complete with built-in effects, a looper, a bunch of musical grooves and drum patterns you can record with, and interactive practice apps where you can measure your performance and progress, and so much more.”
LAVA MUSIC builds on this already solid foundation with its LAVA ME 4 range. Both guitars introduce the upgraded HILAVA 2.0 operating system, which places a greater emphasis on creativity, collaboration and community.
Accessed via the touchscreen, the software gives players access to a huge suite of built-in effects, as well as a Learn App, Effects App and LiveDrums App, the latter two of which can be controlled by LAVA MUSIC Wireless Live Pedals.
Other highlights from the new software include the Improv and Respond Improv features found in the Create App, through which players can browse a huge assortment of backing tracks to jam long to, record over, and respond to other LAVA players wirelessly.
The Carbon edition also utilizes a truss rod for greater stability and flexibility, and uses an advanced SHARC DSP chip for even faster audio processing.
In comparison, in an effort to introduce a more classic vibe, the Spruce model offers a spruce top and HPL back and sides – an ideal choice for combining state of the art tech with old-school aesthetics.
Riario’s verdict? Well, glowing: “My LAVA ME 3 guitars have been my musical sketch pads for inspiration when creativity strikes.
“The LAVA ME 4 guitars – the more affordable Spruce series and the durable Carbon Fibre series – are immersive guitars that are like nothing else.
“With an integrated touch screen and music driven apps, I guarantee they will engage your musical creativity and expressiveness in innumerable ways – whether you perform with these guitars live or create music at home. Not to mention they are a great deal of fun to play. Definitely check it out.”
