Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage Announce Tour
Almost four years after their first run together on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball Tour, heavy metal icons Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God will team up for a late-fall coheadlining tour of the U.S., according to band spokespersons. The tour will feature support from death metal acts DevilDriver and Soilwork.
The tour begins November 28 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and concludes December 17 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage will alternate headlining slots each night of the tour. See below for complete tour details.
After a successful premiere run on Warped Tour 2007, Killswitch Engage recently released As Daylight Dies Special Edition, a CD/DVD combo featuring the MySpace video favorite and current Active Rock hit “Holy Diver.” The special edition also features previous unreleased studio tracks and full music videos for “My Curse,” “The Arms of Sorrow” and “Holy Diver.”
Lamb of God are currently on the road in support of their album Sacrament. After 18 months of touring with Slayer, Megadeth, Ozzfest, Heaven and Hell, and headlining runs in the U.S., Japan, Australia, U.K. and Europe, Lamb of God will take 2008 off to prepare for a new CD.
Fans will get a new dose of Lamb of God in 2008 with a full-length DVD, set for release in the spring. The DVD will document the entire Sacrament experience, beginning with rehearsals for the albums recording straight through this headline run.
Roadrunner artist DevilDriver are touring in support of their latest release, The Last Kind Words , which has been received with high critical and fan acclaim. Offering a melting pot of metallic influences, DevilDriver deliver a binding mix of jarring drums, grinding guitars, and unmistakably brutal vocals by frontman Dez Fafara. Also joining the tour are Sweden’s Soilwork, who will be releasing their new album, Sworn to a Great Divide, on October 19 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Presale tickets will go on sale on October 3 through www.lamb-of-god.com. and www.killswitchengage.com. Tickets go on sale to the public on October 12 and 13.
