KLŌS Guitars’ Grand Cutaway acoustic is the carbon fiber guitar that could finally replace your wooden guitar
Premium, fully PLEK’ed six-string boasts all carbon-fiber construction, composite ebony fingerboard, easily detachable neck and much more
KLŌS Guitars made a splash in the six-string world with its innovative hybrid travel guitar nine years ago, featuring a carbon fiber body and a mahogany neck. The company continued to grow, delivering over 11,000 instruments to 70 countries, as well as maintaining its mission of innovating in instrument design by developing almost 20 instruments made from carbon fiber. KLŌS has kept its carbon fiber hot streak going with the new KLŌS Grand Cutaway. It combines a traditional vibe – the shape is inspired by the classic Taylor 814CE Grand Auditorium – with a sturdy and stunning modern-age design.
At the heart of the Grand Cutaway is, of course, carbon fiber, which boasts sixty times the strength-to-weight ratio of steel, making it not only more tonally consistent than wood, but also more resilient to dents, cracking, warping and other hazards.
But the Grand Cutaway is not just durable, it also sounds stunning. Designed and assembled in the USA, the guitar’s deep cavity produces vibrant tones and loud volume, with the long sustain carbon fiber instruments are known for. The grand auditorium body contour also allows for easy access to higher frets, and the bolt-on carbon fiber neck eliminates the traditional wooden heel for even more upper-fret access.
Additionally, the guitar includes a 20-fret composite ebony fingerboard, a truss rod for adjusting relief and a variety of pickup options, including Fishman, Sonitone, LR Baggs Anthem and K&K Pure Mini. You also get a fully-detailed PLEK job for scientifically perfect playability, and an included lightweight premium gig bag. Guitarists also have the option to get the Grand Cutaway made in Carbon Timber, a nickel-infused 100% carbon fiber weave that’s made to emulate the look of a wooden instrument.
What’s more, the guitar’s carbon fiber neck is also completely detachable. So while the premium, full-sized Grand Cutaway is not a travel guitar, it might very well also be the best guitar to travel with. This full- sized, grand auditorium style guitar could finally replace your main wooden guitar for everything you need, on and off the stage.
Sturdy and portable, with great tone, easy playability and killer looks, the KLŌS Grand Cutaway is a next-level, premium acoustic. Pick one up, and get ready to pick (and strum) your way into the carbon fiber future.
