Jeff Beck Announces U.S. Tour Dates
Jeff Beck, one of the great guitarists of the modern musical age, will soon be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On April 4, 2009, the long-time solo artist will be honored in Cleveland, Ohio, for his many modern Blues and Rock musical offerings. This will be the second induction for Beck, having been previously honored alongside guitar greats Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page for their work with Sixties phenomenon, the Yardbirds.
Prior to the Cleveland ceremony, Jeff Beck will release his latest live performance on DVD and Blu-Ray, Jeff Beck Performing This Week...Live at Ronnie Scott’s. Filmed over the course of several gigs at the famed Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in 2007, Performing This Week... (CD released November 25) features a compilation of material spanning Beck’s genre-jumping career. From Rock to Jazz to Blues, with some Boogie and Beatles to boot, this is Jeff Beck at his absolute best. His band includes Tal Wilkenfeld (bass), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums), and Jason Rebello (keyboards). Joss Stone, Imogen Heap, and Eric Clapton also made special appearances, complementing Beck’s wild guitar work with their diverse vocal approaches.
On the heels of the Performing This Week... DVD release and his induction, Beck will be making 12 special performances across the country. Starting April 6 in Scranton, PA, the Hall of Fame guitarist will hit nine cities, with two shows each in New York, Chicago, and L.A., of which all six sold-out immediately this past weekend. The tour will end on April 23 in Oakland, CA. Backing Beck on this U.S. trek will be the same stellar line-up from the Ronnie Scott dates.
