Ensure accurate tuning and explore the world of compensated tuning with Cherub’s rechargeable clip-on tuner, the Flow Tune Clip
The latest offering from Cherub – a tuner manufacturer owned by the same company behind Nux – boasts a rechargeable lithium battery, the Flow Tune Clip offers four display modes and five tuning modes for guitar, bass and ukulele
There’s no point forking out on an expensive electric guitar or acoustic guitar if you don’t have a reliable guitar tuner to keep it in working order, and while there are multiple tuner pedals on the market, clip-on tuners often provide the easiest and most convenient solution to such problems.
The all-new Flow Tune Clip from Cherub – a brand that has been producing high quality musical accessories since 1998 – is one such example, providing a handful of features that will ensure your guitar is sounding as tuneful as possible.
It’s the latest offering from Cherub, one of the largest tuner designer and manufacturers in the world, which is owned by the same company behind Nux – a musical equipment brand that produces amps, effects, wireless systems and more.

Not only is the Flow Tune Clip modest in size, the clip-on tuner is also mighty powerful, providing four distinct display modes depending on your preference, a high-sensitivity sensor for pinpoint accuracy and a USB-C port for recharging the lithium battery.
With all that time you will save replacing disposable batteries, you will be able to make the most of Cherub Technology’s tuning functions.
In operation, the Flow Tune Clip has a strong metal spring with thick rubber feet, meaning it can be securely fastened to your guitar without damaging the finish. The extendable arm also lets you position the tuner how you see fit, and can be maneuvered on the rear and the front of the headstock.
Once turned on, it gives users access to four display modes: two Strobo and two Arrow, all of which help you tune your guitar to within one cent of accuracy thanks to the built-in piezo sensor.
The Flow Tune Clip goes beyond standard chromatic tuning, and offers specially tailored ukulele and bass tunings as well. In addition, it has also been optimized for six-string basses.
What’s more, Cherub has also loaded its rechargeable unit with Guitar Standard and Guitar Compensated modes, the latter of which was inspired by Grammy Award winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Taylor.
The aim of compensated tuning is simple: to get each string sounding perfectly in tune with each other, no matter the gauge, tension or environment. Owing to these factors – along with different fretting intensities – it's easy for guitars to sound out of tune, even if each individual string is accurately tuned.
The Flow Tune Clip gives you the chance to correct this. When in the Compensated Tuning mode, each string will be tuned slightly flat relative to each other to compensate for unwanted sharpness, meaning they will ultimately sound better and sweeter when chords are fretted.
“Cherub’s Flow Tune Clip has the cents displayed on screen, making it definitively accurate to one cent,” said Scott. “Having a couple of strobe-style modes makes it faster to use for those of us who adopted strobe-style tuning as our savior, and the compensated tuning mode takes much of the frustration out of getting chords to play in tune.”
The Cherub Flow Tune Clip is available now via Amazon for $24.99.
