Baldacci returns with the “wildly cool” Bighorn ECO, a vintage-inspired electric built with 100-percent American grown lumber
Handcrafted model boasts red alder body, hard maple neck, Sissoo rosewood fretboard and new Darkmoon humbuckers
Baldacci has been making waves with its Bighorn electric guitar, which offers a classic feel with a highly versatile, modern approach.
Now, the company has introduced yet another stunner to the Bighorn range: the “wildly cool” Bighorn ECO.
The new model combines the sleek, offset body style of the Bighorn series and repackages it in a new, vintage-inspired design built with 100-percent American grown lumber.
It’s a more approachable and cost-friendly handcrafted guitar that’s also made in the U.S.A.
Some key features of the new model?
As Guitar World Tech editor Paul Riario points out, the “First thing to note is it’s made with 100-percent American lumber grown harvested and dried in the U.S.A.” What that means is you get a “red alder body that comes from the Pacific Northwest, a hard maple neck from the Northeast and a Sissoo rosewood fretboard grown locally in Arizona.”
As for electronics? How about an all-new set of Darkmoon-designed humbucker pickups, loaded with AlNiCo slug magnets for a clear, natural sound? These humbuckers are controlled by a master volume, master tone and three-way blade switch, and you can plug in via a PureTone output jack.
Other features that have clearly caught Paul’s eye include the bolt-on neck with threaded neck inserts for enhanced stability, the redesigned vintage-inspired six-in-line headstock with script headcap logo and, of course, Baldacci’s signature 12th fret “mountain” inlay.
“It goes without saying that the Baldacci Bighorn ECO offers stellar tone and playability in a sleek offset guitar that merges the simplicity of classic instrument design, but also gracefully possesses the refinement of some of the best custom guitars,” Paul concludes.
“I’ll also say the Baldacci ECO feels familiar but bespoke, and there’s no denying that this guitar is a truly enriching custom instrument for those who want it all in an American-made guitar.”
The Bighorn ECO is offered in four satin finishes – Metallic Peach, Delta Blue, Silver Bullet and Blackout – and comes in a RoadRunner Hardshell Case. It’s available to order direct from Baldacci Guitars or at select dealers.
