Alice Cooper guitarist Ryan Roxie hosts In the Trenches weekly podcast series with leading hard rock and metal artists
Guests include Joe Satriani, Nita Strauss, Rob Halford and others
Ryan Roxie usually spends his time touring the world as one of three electric guitar players, alongside Nita Strauss and Tommy Henriksen, in Alice Cooper’s band. But like all musicians, he’s been grounded the last year.
And so Roxie started up a podcast, In the Trenches, on which he connects with great guitar players and other musicians on the classic rock scene.
In the Trenches is now approaching the 100 episode mark, and has hosted members of Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick, Elton John, and Black Sabbath, as well as Steel Panther, Manowar, L.A. Guns, Twisted Sister, Hanoi Rocks, Enuff Z’Nuff, Warrant, Winger and Billy Idol.
Solo artists and songwriters like Rob Halford, Joe Satriani, Nita Strauss, Doro, Desmond Child and Suzi Quatro have also appeared on the show.
Some episodes and clips of the show have reached close to 100,000 viewers, and equipment manufacturers like Beyerdynamic and Hughes & Kettner have become In the Trenches sponsors.
Roxie, who is also the founder of the System-12 Guitar Method, says about the podcast, “Preparing and hosting the In the Trenches show every week has actually been therapeutic during the strange time of lockdown and future uncertainty. It not only allowed me to build out a new avenue for creativity, but has also led to great relationships, significant growth of the fanbase, and exciting business opportunities through sponsorships and advertising partnerships.”
He continues, “The podcast has helped me develop into a more practiced interviewer and show host, but most importantly it has intensified and broadened my relationship with the guitar. More than just an instrument, the guitar connects people through shared memories — a collective soundtrack of our lives. In the Trenches has given me another channel to carry the torch of rock ‘n’ roll into the future and hand it to the next generation.”
