Fresh on the heels of the recently announced 4-show engagement this July at Hollywood’s famous Roxy Theatre, LA punk rock leaders X have announced an exclusive west coast acoustic trek. The tour will culminate with a headlining spot at the Portland, OR-based Pickathon Festival on August 2 and 3.
The Fresh & Onlys have shared the cinematic new video for "Animal of One," a soaring track off their latest LP, House Of Spirits, which released earlier this month. The video finds the four-piece - Tim Cohen (vocals, guitar), Wymond Miles (guitar), Shayde Sartin (bass) and Kyle Gibson (drums) - acting as both participant and spectator in a meta-theatrical, film noir fever dream.
Shovels & Rope, the husband and wife duo of Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, has announced a tour in support of their sophomore album Swimmin’ Time (out August 26 via Dualtone Music). The tour will kick off on August 20 in Raleigh, NC with stops scheduled in Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, New York and many more.
Rock band O.A.R. is having quite a month. On June 3, they were the house band for the entire hour on the Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda, which included a performance of their single “Peace” accompanied by the Mt. Carmel-Holy Rosary School of East Harlem. Later that week, the band visited with the famed Staten Island elementary school chorus at PS 22 in a rendition of “Peace.”

It was a glorious day in Union Square Park on June 21. Just the right kind of weather for hundreds of guitarists to gather and jam for Mass Appeal: Guitars, an annual event that’s part of the Make Music Festival. This year, Acoustic Nation co-hosted the event with the New York City Guitar School and I have to say, it was truly epic.
